The Cãoservação program is about One Health

Cats and dogs in direct contact with wild animals can result in territorial dispute, predation and spread of diseases, which also affects the health of people living with them. Connecting human beings, animals and the environment in conservation actions is to provide a better place for all, respecting every form of life.

OBJECTIVES

We aim to understand the entry of dogs and cats into Protected Areas, their ranging behaviour and the possible impacts of this on wild carnivores, especially the transmission of diseases among species. From this, we intend to elaborate an official document  to the competent authorities with management guidelines to minimize this impacts.
